Giuseppe Procida, a Brooklyn resident for more than a half century and a member of the Daily News family, died Thursday. He was 86.

So I jump on the Steve Forbes conference call and what do I get? More of the same? Nope, Forbes actually managed to keep my interest, unlike “The Golden Boy”.Nothing really to share that you have not already heard in the news or on HBO’s Countdown special. Still below are some observations:

Diary time again. Wednesday afternoon, I ended up doing something I had never done before, and the only reason was because the Pope was visiting America. Normally, I would be indifferent to such a thing, and it was exactly my complete indifference that drove me to this point. The Advocate breke the news that another Tax Collector employee was under criminal investigation for stealing money from her other employer, a variety store. The individual is also a civic group treasurer and appointed official. No indication how much money or from where was stolen.

Reasons for low ratings include corruption, high awards, unpredictability, unfair judges and juries, and overburdened courts. The survey, sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, got responses from 957 senior corporate attorneys. It found the best legal climates ...
